WHAT TO EXPECT

Having a healthy mind is a necessary ingredient for quality life. It enables you to face life’s challenges, keep a positive attitude, seek intellectual stimulation and make creative use of time through work and volunteer services.


In this section, we'll go over what it truly means to practice self-care by starting within yourself.

WHAT TO DO

Below are a series of sections to complete and some tips to remember. These are designed to help you stay mindful of your health journey. So please start here:


  • Complete the worksheet below called MENTAL HEALTH CHECKLIST
  • Try answering the questions (remember to be honest and objective as possible)
  • ​Say the affirmation to yourself every morning this week.
  • Be kind to yourself. When you feel troubled, talk to someone you trust or seek help from a therapist.
  • ​When overwhelmed by thought or emotions, take a walk, ride a bike or do that which helps you relax and calm your mind. Mental health is important.

TIPS AND POINTS TO REMEMBER

Here are some tips that can help you best achieve your goal for this module. Don't rush your progress but be mindful of what works best for you and stick with it.


  • Practice good self-care for both body and mind.
  • You can do this by getting plenty of rest, eating right and exercising frequently.
  • ​It is also very helpful to visit a therapist if you feel you are not okay mentally or your emotions are overwhelming.
  • ​Another way to keep a healthy mental state is to engage in positive learning through proper social interactions.
  • ​Hanging out with people that love and care for you can help you open up to them about the struggles you’re experiencing.
